Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - Russian composer (1840-1893)
Besides writing one of the most memorable and performed works in music history, the ballet, The Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky mastered composing for the orchestra, churning out very innovative, very romantic and very "Russian" works including six symphonies, five ballets and eleven operas.
